Stocking up a simple step to attract prosperity, peace.

“Be prepared” isn’t just a scout motto, it is good feng shui, too.

In scouting, you are prepared for basic survival in the wilds. In feng shui, when you are prepared for predictable eventualities, it gives you a sense of comfort and self care that translates into prosperity consciousness.

The basic feng shui “rule” to replace light bulbs, for example, within 24 hours is much easier to follow when you have a cabinet that is stocked with all the types of bulbs you use in your home.

When you have to make a special trip to a store to do so, chances are very good you will “violate” the 24 hour rule.

And every time you pass the area that is not lighted as usual, it can be a hazard or at least an annoyance.

Your inner Perfectionist gets to shake his or her finger at you and say “You haven’t taken care of this, yet.”

The underlying message is “other people and your work, are far more important than your safety or comfort.”
Which is poverty consciousness?

To maintain a strong sense of prosperity consciousness, you will want to stock a number of other items as well. Batteries for: cordless phones, walkmans, micro-cassette recorders, clocks, timers, razors and other portable electronics.

Bath consumables like soap, shampoo, toilet paper, razors or razor blades, floss, tooth paste, mouth wash, deodorant, cosmetics, and especially replacement tooth brushes makes you feel well nurtured when all you need to do is open a cabinet to replace the spent item.

Kitchen consumables can be dish, dishwasher, and hand soap, sponges, brillo pads, soft scrub, paper towels, and even cloth kitchen towels.

Back up stock of cleaning supplies like vacuum cleaner bags and your favourite cleaning products including laundry detergent and fabric softeners makes your life far easier than a special trip to the store when you’re ready to use any of the above. And it makes you feel well provided for.

Ditto re: car care products. Especially gas. Not only is it better for your car to fill it when there is still a quarter of a tank, it gives you peace of mind. Peace of mind equals prosperity consciousness.

If you feel a sense of exuberant triumph as you coast into the gas station on fumes, it is suggested you indulge your delight in risk taking differently. Like take up rock climbing.

Take risks where risk taking is the point rather than an unfortunate by-product. Misfortune does not equal prosperity.

Bath cabinets filled with hotel giveaway shampoos, crèmes, and soaps from a vacation you took last year or samples that accompanied purchases of cosmetics you wanted, or partially used products that have been replaced by a more favoured brand, all contribute to poverty consciousness.

The underlying message is “I better not get rid of this stuff because some day I might need it.”

It is an act of prosperity consciousness to give that stuff away, refill your gas tank when it’s a quarter filled, and replenish your supplies of consumables when you happen to be at the store, anyway.

The feeling of safety and comfort in these small ways attracts prosperity in large ways.
